Point has through its subsidiary Point Transaction Systems A/S, Denmark, signed an agreement to acquire the payment terminal business from TDC.
The acquired business comprises an installed terminal base of approx. 30.000 point-of-sale terminals on the Danish market. The acquisition will strengthen our position in Denmark and Point will become the leading player in the market for electronic transaction payments in Denmark.
Point has already before the acquisition a well-established organisation including a stand-alone service and support division in Denmark. Consequently, Point has the infrastructure and procedures in place and the necessary skills to give our customers the best professional services. Michael Sundin, CEO of Point International says: “The acquisition of the terminal business from TDC will further strengthen Point´s market leading position as supplier and service provider of payment terminals in the Nordic and Baltic regions.”
Point and TDC have also signed a partnership agreement to secure a smooth transition of the customer base from TDC to Point, and TDC will act as a backup service partner to Point during a period after the completion of the transaction.
The closing of the transaction is December 15, 2006. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction value.
